Hi Scott,

I got the iSeriesNetwork newsletter mentioning your article then I was googling around for "IFSDIR" to see if anyone had run into the problem I was having and I discovered Michael's, which was from 2004. I didn't look at his code, but the article had a different slant than yours, and his source members had different names. In any case, it's a great idea, and recursion will make it even better. Thanks again!

And looks like Elvis Budimlic solved my problem -- thanks Elvis. I'll try again when I've got a minute or 3.

Hi Peter,

I'm shocked. I had no idea that Michael Sansoterra had written a UDTF that's so similar to the one I just wrote! I had absolutely no clue. Now I feel stupid, everyone's going to think that I stole his code or something. (Though, if you look at the actual program code, you'll see that they're very different, even though they have nearly identical results).

I thought it was an original idea, sigh...

Oh well... I could certainly make it recurse into subdirectories as a follow-up article.
