It isn't necessary. Most of my clients don't run it.
You do need to have it running if you wanted to use ObjectConnect's
SAVRST* commands or wanted to transfer files or splfs using SNDNETF or
SNDNETSPLF.

Is running QSNADS still necessary? Documentation says it only does
APPC/APPN communications. We only have one iSeries and everything that
we do is IP based. Not sure about IBM's ECS and other "phone home"
functions IBM has running.
