That is correct.

And if you retrieve enough additional entries you may very well find that
bringing in the additional entries causes the changed entries to be
written to auxiliary storage in order to "make room" in main storage for
the newly retrieved entries!

For completeness I will also point out that I simplified a few things in
my earlier response :-) The system, in it's "spare time", can also write
out changed entries even when there is no demand for the memory pages to
bring in new data. Storage management on the system can be quite
sophisticated. But the main thing is -- you can force the change out
immediately/synchronously, or you can have the system do it "later" where
later is, well, later :) And "later" is difficult to quantify as there
are many variables involved.
