Yeah, unlike a logical file in DDS, sql will not allow you to combine
CREATE VIEW with CREATE INDEX to get a view in a particular order. I did
mention that in my earlier email. However, this is only an issue if you
are using RLA instead of imbedded SQL. Because if you were using imbedded
SQL and selected from that VIEW and did an order by, like
SELECT * FROM PARNINLF
ORDER BY FIELD2 DESC
it would sort it, descending. And, if you had an INDEX over the selection
criteria, then the order by criteria, it would use that index (under the
covers) to improve performance.
SQL, unlike DDS, can sort by fields in two files (think joined logical
file).
