You can do it either way...

If you have DDS use that
or
create the flat file and get your records in that.

You can always move the flat file over to a
externallly described file very easily.

Hi Pat. If I use CRTPF and I do not have a DDS involved, I will be creating a flat record layout with no fields configured.

Is there a way to do it with CRTPF?
