Cute way to put column headings into a output file, by the way.

SELECT with no FROM?
I am trying to do what I thought would be simple... MS SQL allows
selection
of hardcoded data in a "SELECT" statement without a from:
SELECT 'Foo" as First, 'Bar' as Middle, 'ForMe' as Last
You can thereby force a record to be returned with any result set:
SELECT First, Middle, Last FROM employees
UNION
SELECT 'Foo" as First, 'Bar' as Middle, 'ForMe' as Last
On MS SQL there is also a TABLE datatype...therefore a TABLE variable can
be
used.
DECLARE @TempTable TABLE (First VARCHAR(50), Middle VARCHAR(50), Last
VARCHAR(50))
INSERT INTO @TempTable VALUES('Foo', 'Bar', 'ForMe')
SELECT First, Middle, Last FROM employees
UNION
SELECT First, Middle, Last FROM @TempTable
Is there a simple way to do something similar on the 400?
I've spent an hour going through SQL reference, Stored Procedure
reference,
and SQL concepts redbooks but I haven't found anything for this.
Thanks in advance!
