Midrange-L is not my list to run. However, I feel the same way about
interminable discussions on this "Technical Discussion" list of:
- why IBM's licensing is (stupid, justified, exquisite)
- how to make sense of it
as I do about interminable discussions on this list about
- why Microsoft's control over the small computer systems world is
(evil, unavoidable, exquisite)
- how to use Linux, or Palm OS, or DR-DOS, to overcome it.
Anyone who thinks that IBM's key marketing decision-makers read this list,
raise your hand. OK, I see a few hands. Now, anyone who thinks they make
significant decisions based on what is said on this list, raise all three
hands. Not you, Qxrtqaaqlmrx -- besides, those aren't hands.
