True, but only if the RMTSYS allows a ping. My bank does not. That truly
causes us some heartburn since the ftp lines are down at least weekly.
At least they let us know so we can resend the files.

something you can ping.
Then you can do this:
PING RMTSYS(NOTESFAX) MSGMODE(*QUIET *ESCAPE)
MONMSG MSGID(TCP3210 TCP3202 TCP3213) EXEC(GOTO CMDLBL(ALERT))
