We're aware of that option but the "untrainable users" are smart enough to
disable that feature. I wonder if there is someone at the iSeries Access
development team I could email and urge for this enhancement.

That's an impossible request. What if the user shuts down the machine? What about power loss? What about another dumb crash in Windows? There could be any number of reasons that iSeries Access would get shut down. The trouble with going down the "don't allow iSeries Access to end unless the user has signed off" road is that there is never a satisfactory conclusion. There will always be a way to circumvent it. Better to look for solutions elsewhere imo.

Another angle of this is how would iSeries Access know when the user has signed off? There isn't a "sign on status" bit in the 5250 protocol. I suppose one might suggest that Access could simply look to see if the current buffer matches a predefined buffer of a sign on screen. But since the sign screen can be customized, this approach wouldn't work. IOW, to iSeries Access, there is no such concept of "signed on" and "signed off" - everything is just buffers of bits that represent characters on a screen.
