Hello Pat,

We did a similar conversion for a customer a few months back.

If you email me a few documents we can convert them for you to see if they
are to your liking.

If you like what you see, you can ship us the documents on
CD/DVD/Removable hard drive and we will return them to you converted.

Cost would be a couple grand.

The other option would be to get the Word RFT converter from MS and write
your own automated process.

Might be worth the one time cost for conversion to save time.

Regards,
Richard Schoen

subject: Batch conversion of OV/400 docs to Word docs

I can recall seeing somebody who had software that
would do the batch converison.

I have a customer with 42,000 + documents that I
need to get in a Word format.

We want to put them in a new 520 and I guess
Word is the only thing in the picture at the moment.

They are a fairly heavy user of word processing
and don't require text data merge, soooooo I guess
a Windows server is in their future. They have
around 25-30 users. They use no other features of
OV/400.

That brings up another question.

Would you install a Windows server with Office or just
install Word on each pc ?

Neither is very attractive but I'm stuck with no solution.

Did I mention 25-30 twinax terminals ???
