We at RJS Software have a combination of products that can archive existing and ongoing spooled files. If disk space is an issue on the iSeries, the archived images can be stored and retrieved from an NFS (network file systems) server or a Windows (QNTC) server. The products include Report Splitter, Batch Report Server, and WebDocs-iSeries Edition. If this sounds interesting, please feel free to call us to arrange for a 30-day evaluation - you can ask for me but I won't have all the pricing information - can give you a techie's eye view.

Check out site at www.rjssoftware.com or call us at 888.RJS.SOFT

Thanks Rob & Jim.

I have no idea who upgraded the system but it is my task to keep the
disk usage low enough to last until the 820 is replaced.

For who ever was looking for damaged objects, I did notice that there is
a flag in QAEZDISK for object status (DISTIN) = 2 is damaged.

Almost 2% of the disk space is devoted to spool files acting as an
archive. I know the users would never be able to find a specific
ancient report if they needed to.

Is anyone using an imaging system with search capabilities to archive
reports? Can you take existing reports and archive them or does it
archive reports in the process of creation?

Read the help on RTVDSKINF. They talk about routinely renaming the file

in QUSRSYS and stuff. So, therefore it will rebuild the file in QUSRSYS

if it needs to.

CPI9802 on QAEZDISK

CPI9802 - Record format for file QAEZDISK in QUSRSYS does not match
model file. I ran RTVDSKINF on a client's V5R2 system and the job
received this message. The job ran to completion and there are records
in the file.

File in QUSRSYS is 211 bytes; QSYS is 214. Can I just delete the
QUSRSYS version and copy the QSYS? Or if I just delete it, will it be
created on the fly? Does QAEZDISK in QUSRSYS get replaced during
upgrade?

Thank you,
