Hi all,

I don't know if this is the correct group but this overlaps Midrange and
the MS Server hardware

I have been now for a week trying to get a TS3200 library on-line. We
have it setup with 2 drives one attached to our 520 attached to a 5736
PCI-X Disk/Tape Ctlr w/IO. Oh by the way you do need a IOP card with this
feature. Luckily our BP miss ordered 2 when we purchased our 520. A
Saturday morning well spent. IBM 7/24 hardware service is still the best
and he was in the US!

The other drive is attached to a Dell Power Edge 1750 with a Adaptec SCSI
Card - 39320A. The library is configured as a 2 logical libraries. The
520 found it and the only issue is that we didn't buy to bar code labels
for them. I did find a IBM document for the specification of the label. I
did print some up but it hit or miss reading the bar code right now due to
a print head issue with my Datamax I Class printer.

The problem really get interesting with the PC Server we are a Veritus
shop. I have all the Veritus driver installed for the tape library. I it
see it fine now BUT had the IBM drivers installed first that didn't work
at all. After the driver issue was corrected, I did a inventory using
Veritus and we had a Robotic library hardware error. Open a case with IBM
and they had me update the Library firmware. After I did that I was able
to run the inventory in Veritus. Two step foreword one step back... Now
I am ready to do our first window backup I thought.

We now I received a new error:
Backup- \\NAS1\C: Storage device "IBM 1" reported an error on a request to
write data to media.
Error reported:
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
V-79-57344-34029 - A hardware error occurred.

Reading threads now I need to update the drive firmware. Been on the
phone with IBM hardware support for 2.5 hours trying to update the drive
firmware with error after error.
Now they are sending me new chassis.

Has anyone got this library to work with Veritus and BRMS?

Thank You,
Ed
