Someone did a Java version of TN5250, though I only used it at a sort of
"Beta" level. Don't remember who exactly. Sorry about that whoever it
was, because I believe in credit where it's due

Product is TN5250J. Free. I use it everyday. Wonderful product. The
font's make it worth it if nothing else.

This is probably worth a try: http://www.mochasoft.dk/tn5250java.htm

I have used the Win32 Mochasoft emulator, and it is really easy to use.
A
site license is very reasonably priced. The open source tn5250 emulator

is another remote access option. It's not browser based, but it is very

handy, and you don't have to worry about any licensing or redistribution

issues. If you have any Linux users connecting, it might even be a
simple
apt-get install for them (it was for me!).

Rob,
Why didn't you fully implement it? I have a similar software package
that we purchased several years ago that I still haven't fully
implemented. It doesn't have the granularity I need to disallow
transaction types (INSERT, UPDATE, etc.), only functions (prepare and
describe, execute, etc).

Exactly. The nom du jour for (s)pentasafe is NetIQ. We really never
fully implemented it and the annual maintenance fees were a KILLER.
