Have you kept current with your software support contract? If you have let
it expire, you will get sticker shock at the fee IBM will charge you in
order for you to have the privilege of buying a new software support
contract. I went through this almost a year ago with a client who had let
his contract lapse. IBM wanted almost $35K in back charges before they would
sell a new support agreement.

That company stayed where they were, and is now plunging into the black hole
of Great Plains Software. How they think GP can support the needs of a
homebuilder is beyond me, but the CIO is one of those young MBA's I have
spoken of so frequently.

Subject: iSeries SW Revision Options

Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a matrix that lists the various AS400
models and the maximum OS revision level that can be installed? I'm
looking to upgrade our old DRP 720 to something newer, but due to
budgetary constraints (or better yet, lack of budget), I need to find a
balance between the cost and the maximum SW revision level it will
support.

Thanks!

/b;
