Everyone likes to talk about the weather but no one ever does anything
about it...

actually there is a company trying to get approval to "seed" hurricanes
to reduce their intensity. Even though we see hurricane destruction as
"bad" it is part of the water cycle and sometimes is welcome rain
in drought areas.
Also the Chinese have an active program of seeding clouds to affect weather.
Some research & actual "services" in this country as well.

It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature....
