Booth, You may need to tell the CVTDAT command what the from format is in order to get the to format correct. I have a date type field in the first record of a data file. I want to get the month from it, in CL. Here's what I tried and I can not make work: CVTDAT DATE(&FCMDTE) TOVAR(&FCMDTE) TOFMT(*ISO) IF COND(%SUBSTRING(&FCMDTE 4 2) = '04') THEN(DO) The CVTDAT fails because the CL believes the date field is *MDY (RTVJOBA of DATFMT = *MDY). I believe I am making this way to complicated. -- --------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.Martinvt.com --------------------------------- -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
