Are you in binary or text mode? I'm wondering if there's some control
character combination in RC773001.TXT that is indicating an end of
file type thing. I'd change the mode to binary (or the reverse) and
try again.

Look at the PC file at the point where the AS/400 transfer failed. See
if there's something strange about that data.
