I don't think you need OpenSSL except briefly to convert the PEM to PKCS. This page seems to explain the process. Look for "LinkPoint, YourPay, and Java": http://www.advogato.org/person/johnnyb/diary.html?start=146 I'd use the OpenSSL installation on any Linux machine or Windows machine with cygwin to do the conversion. After that, I guess you're done with OpenSSL and it'll all be Java.
