Think of a pair of linked ads where job openings go.1. The enterprise lists qualifications an applicant needs to have & provides a link to where someone can learn that subject, saying that they willing to hire entry level positions to graduates of certain classes. 2. The IBM business partner in the region lists the classes they offer, whenever they have some # of students sign up for the classes, with links to job market ads for people who have learned what the classes offer.
When any community can get that going, the IBM reps would notify their customers, in other communities of the region, about this, so that additional students could come in from other companies, when courses are relevant to their needs.
Perhaps the IBM business partner can give some referral commission to anyone who sends them a student.
The sad thing is that I was hearing from local businesses (SouthBend/Elkhart/Goshen, IN area) that they needed AS/400 programmers and had talked to the university about it, but the computer science departmentdidn't see the opportunity.
