I'm just saying that for the truckload of money that software subscription costs, they could provide servers with at least decent performance. Other vendors don't have a problem with that. I can get linux updates from a local server at my DSL link speed. I can get windows updates from local servers (akamai infrastructure). Even apple gets this. And none of them want "direct" money for updates. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces+l.beeler=dataline.ch@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces+l.beeler=dataline.ch@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of rob@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2007 10:22 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: no more cume dvd via sndptford? Lukas, It does take us about a day to get all the cumes, etc. Still faster than physical delivery. Especially since IBM uses the slowest possible method of physical delivery and no longer gives you the option to "speed it up a little". Rob Berendt
