First thing I noticed was that in the V5R4 infocenter it said it was "API
introduced: V5R4 with PTF ".

Hmmmm... both the APAR and the V5R3 info center say "V5R3 with PTF"!!

But, you're right, the V5R4 info center says "V5R4 with PTF". Weird. I assume that when they made the V5R4 page, they simply copied the old one, and replaced "V5R3" with "V5R4".

Also -- I just want to point out that this PTF relies on the compiler. The compiler must store information about the interface in the compiled object, or this API won't work. It does say that the RPG and C compilers currently do that -- but it doesn't say when they started doing that!

I suspect that if you ran this API on a program that was compiled with an older compiler, it wouldn't be able to find any interface info.

I just wonder how old the compiler would have to be...
