Another option is to use:
http://www.twindata.com/compumaster/ipconsole.htm.

I connect via VPN into our Windows domain.  Using their software I connect 
to the device that sits between the AS/400 and the console. As far as the 
810 is concerned, it is a dumb tube. I can telnet into the device and it's 
just like being at the terminal.

I'm sure that HMC will be in our next box, but for now it's a reasonable 
solution at a reasonable price.
