FWIW....  We are purging our tape library and looking at options for
cleansing/destroying the old tapes.  Just for grins (not that I would
have relied on it), I tried our old bulk tape eraser (demagnetizer) the
other day on some LTO's.  DSPTAP & RSTOBJ worked fine even after a
thorough going over with the gizmo.  I jokingly suggested we take the
tapes to the auto wrecking yard - now that's a magnet.
