Of course, that's it. :) Thanks Birgitta. I'm in the habit of using WITH NC on more interactive statements cause the files aren't journaled. I forgot about the Session Attributes. On 1/16/07, Hauser, Birgitta <Birgitta.Hauser@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Hi, If you are in interactive SQL, just press F13 and Option 1 and check for Commitment Control, I'm rather sure, it is set to something other than *NONE. If commitment control is set, STRCMTCTL is automatically stared at activation group level(if not yet active). If you leave interactive SQL with commitment control set and without specifying COMMIT or ROLLBACK, an automatic rollback will be performed at job's end. I had a process where I did an INSERT with NC into a table. It took over 5 minutes. I then did a CREATE INDEX, the same INSERT, and a DROP INDEX. Total time now 45 seconds. Obviously much better. However, when I exited Interactive SQL, I needed to do a COMMIT (or ROLLBACK). I determined it was as a result of the CREATE INDEX. Why is that?
