Thanks for the reply. It must be one of the first type. We have the other type running another printer elsewhere that has the separate VGA cable but this one is all one unit. I was hoping to gain a little heat relief and maybe I can if I switch the 2 units...someday. Thanks, Blair "James H H Lampert" wrotewill the printer still be recognized?
Depends. If you're talking about a 3476 or 3477 InfoWindow, or 3486 or 3487 InfoWindow II terminal with integral display, then there is no "monitor" to turn off; the logic and display units run on a common power supply. If you turn it off, then there is nothing to run the printer. If you're talking about a 3488 or 3489 InfoWindow II "modular display station," with the logic unit in a physically separate box connected to an actual monitor with a VGA cable, with separate on/off switches and power cords, then yes, you can turn the monitor off without affecting the terminal. -- JHHL
