Ok, here's a little detail.

I have a window where the user can enter in text. Roughly 350
characters (so 10 35a lines as one long continuous line). I'm using
CntFld because the user wants to be able to insert (push text) and
delete (pull text) across lines. I have a word wrap function to clean
it up.

As it is, the user can shift-enter (newline) to drop from one line to
another, but I'd prefer to not rely on the emulation keyboard setup and
control the <tab> and position the cursor myself. Also, I'd like to
'climb' back up the lines with shift-tab. I'm trying to retain
keystrokes that the users are familiar with. Though the implementation
of this particular function will have a limited user base, I can see the
use of this service program finding itself in other programs eventually
as well.

What limits are you thinking about?

Let's say I have one field on a screen and I use CntFld so it's 10
