We have situations where a programmer goes to the plant floor and finds a terminal description messed up. He deletes the device description, uses a menu option to temporarily turn auto config on, and reconnects the device. At that point I would like for him to have *ALL rights to the device and the associated message queue so he can rename them to the old terminal name. Since our system default for new objects (and the libraries default to the system value) are *PUBLIC *EXCLUDE, I've changed CRTDEVDSP to have a new default of AUT(*AUTL). The referenced authority list has the values I want to have. I also have changed CRTMSGQ to the same authority parameter. My problem is that the new default gets used for CRTDEVDSP, but not for CRTMSGQ. The message queue does get created, but my default doesn't get recognized. The programmer tries to change the device name, but cannot because only QSECOFR/QTCP have rights to the message queue. What am I missing here?
