It's no small deal to reset all files in an enterprise application,
retesting every CA download, upload,
communication process, cpyfrm.../cpyto..., other products, etc. Has everyone
else but me cleared this hurdle?

The iSeries Access ODBC driver (I assume that's what you're using, but I don't think you said...) has an option to translate CCSID 65535 as if it were a normal CCSID.

If you turn that option on, your data should be automagically translated (assuming that the from/to CCSIDs are set correctly.)

However, if you have any non-text stored in character fields of your database, this will become a problem because you'll have no way of marking the field as "don't translate", since that's what 65535 is SUPPOSED to be for.

Fortunalely, iSeries users rarely use non-text in character fields,
