There is another document Bruce Vining sent me that is intended for developers using the Software Product APIs. It is fairly brief but does answer a couple of items not fully addressed in the manuals.

You could ask Bruce if you're eligible for a copy of the Licence Management Guidelines document.
I'll second that recommendation. The LMG document that I received was 65 pages and had plenty of useful info.
Like most things the devil is in the detail. It is easy enough to use the APIs and official documentation to create and package products and add licensing information. Doing so in a manner difficult to circumvent or being able to anticipate potential problems is another thing entirely.
Heh... also seconded. The APIs are pretty easy to use (once various concepts, etc., are grasped and details click in understanding). And they provide really nice flexibility with useful enforcement by OS/400.
When combined with related exit programs, it all comes together to form a decent "Install Shield" kind of framework. After putting together the first full package of a LPP, later ones start to become obvious. They also tend to expose dumb things you did the first time, but when isn't that true in programming?
