No sooner had I hit the send key when the solution hit me (duh!).

 

In my Host Name Search priority I had set my Host name search priority to
*REMOTE as opposed to *LOCAL. 

 

Changing it to *LOCAL seems to have cured the problem (as long as it doesn't
cause another one instead <g>)
