POP was "copied" so many times that IBM was convinced that
nobody was using or buying the product.

They announced that they were going to drop it and it
created such a uproar that they found out almost every
single S/34 in the country had the product installed.

Most of the installed base was a "free" copy...
(Some accounts actually paid for it)

One of the few "freeby" products to ever come out of IBM.

I think that that was the most copied program in the history of the IBM Midrange! I've heard that even SE's would put it on systems that didn't have them... (Hearsay only, so no details.)
