Martin,

Having a 5.5mm socket on your drill/driver will make the project easier but there is nothing special at all to getting it to work.. Do the physical connection first then pass the SCSI cable through the opening and connect the big ribbon cable between the sides. It should power up with the system unit (so long as you connect the 2nd power cord! :-) I have done many of these without so much as a lick of trouble.

Hi everyone and Happy Christmas.

I am installing a 7102 System Expansion Unit on a 170 at V5R3 this weekend and was wondering if anyone knew of any special codes that I will need to input on the front panel in order to make it work. I know that if you install a 7114/7116 you have to enter the codes to let the iSeries know it's there, but I cant rememeber if its the same on the older models?

Kind Regards

Martin.
