http://www.itjungle.com/tfh/tfh121806-story02.html is the article to
which you are referring...here's what it says about the new release:
Will the company just sit around and wait for Power6 servers and put out
a valuable but same-old-strategy i5/OS V5R5 release out in 2007 or maybe
even 2008? I sure hope not, for all of our sakes.

Doesn't say it won't come out in 2007...not to mention the fact that he
prefaces the statements with this:
Calling the future of the System i5 platform is not so easy, but I have
some things that I think might happen in 2007 or beyond. I am not sure
when some of these things might happen, and I admit that they are mere
hunches.

IIRC hunches aren't facts...

Thanks,
Tommy Holden

I'll call your bluff Steve...
http://www.itjungle.com/tfh/tfh092506-story01.html

Seems ITJungle does know about a newer release in 2007...

I wish. In their most recent reports, ITJungle has said it looks like
there will not be a new release. The p5 gets the power6 in summer, 2007.
i5 has to wait to 2008. ITJungle says we should be complaining about it
;)
