thanks for the offer, but I wrote my own CPYPF2XLS utility, wich converts 
any PF to an XLS in the IFS.  It takes a long time for large files, 
though.

However, I could always use Excel at work.

I was just wondering whether it could be done (it = accessing iSeries data 
from OO)

I wrote a CL command named SQL2STMF which runs an SQL Select statement, 
passed as a parameter, and outputs the result set to a stream file in 
.TXT, .CSV, or .XML formats.

Can OpenOffice import .CSV files like Excel?  Send me a private email if 
you'd like me to send a *SAVF with the command to you.
