There's more to this than just that, though.

IBM screwed up big time renaming the System over and over, especially
since even THEY can't get it right. There are still many many references
to iSeries and to AS/400, OS/400 in V5R4. iSeries Access is still called
iSeries Access, not System i Access or System i5 Access.

There's still PM400, no PMi5, and the directory for iSeries Access is
still called CA400.

I've given up on trying to teach our customers the new and ever changing
name. But even our sales still call it "the AS" or "the iSeries". In
writing, this is of course different, since you can tell Word to
highlight these words. But it's much more difficult to change speech.

And even IBM is goddamn inconsistent in their materials (not the
marketing materials, though). Some newer Redbooks (post V5R4) still talk
about OS/400.

The i5/OS was introduced just one month before V5R3 was released, and so
OS/400 went through the translation cycle. On V5R4, it says i5/OS.

I think the reason it says OS/400 is because the name of the operating
system never changed?

So I got my CDs for C6255530 today - they have "System i" on the top
line, which is good.

Second line still says "OS/400" - haha! If you're going to change one
line on the CD printer you'd think you could make the second line say
"i5/OS" too! Of course, the V5R4 package still says "iSeries-OS/400" on
it.

Chuckle for your Wednesday - maybe we'll have all these CDs changed-up
in time for the next name swap. LOL!
