Company is cheap.  We use MAPICS and the CFO does not want to upgrade 
because License fees will go up.

It looks like you guys pretty much figured this all out.  But, I must ask: 
Is this a production system running at V4R5?  If so, am I the only one 
that wonders why you are running on an O/S release that was dropped from 
vendor (IBM) "support-ability" on 12/31/2002?
