Many people have converted from mainframe CICS to native - others have used the CICS/400 package to great effect. There have been a number of threads on the COBOL list over the years - here's one to get you started. There's some good stuff in this thread. http://archive.midrange.com/cobol400-l/200201/msg00000.html I don't believe that CICS/400 is being actively enhanced at this time - but I wouldn't swear to that - check with IBM. But MQ is being developed still so anything "new" you need can probably be accommodated by that.
