RE: Iseries CICS

Many people have converted from mainframe CICS to native - others have used
the CICS/400 package to great effect.

There have been a number of threads on the COBOL list over the years -
here's one to get you started.  There's some good stuff in this thread.

I don't believe that CICS/400 is being actively enhanced at this time - but
I wouldn't swear to that - check with IBM.  But MQ is being developed still
so anything "new" you need can probably be accommodated by that.

For most mainframers the hardest thing is to convince them not to waste time
trying to find how to do things that they don't need to do on the System i!
