From: Lukas Beeler We have several 520 running for 5-10 users with 1GB of RAM, and they usually have the admin-Server (needed to setup SSL for CA and such) running. Clicking on a link takes 10-30 seconds till you get a page, while the whole machine grinds to a halt.
The adminconsole is a hog no matter what. You cannot use it to measure performance. I run lots of JSP-based applications on a model 520 with 1GB of memory and have no problems, and that's using WAS. I suggest 2GB to give yourself a little breathing room and then create a separate memory pool for your application server. You can either use a shared pool, or you can create a dedicated pool for the subsystem using the CHGSBSD command. Start with 500MB and see if you need more; my guess is with Tomcat you won't. Joe
