There are 4 things my wife ABSOLUTLEY pounds into the heads of students
taking her 400/iSeries/i5 classes

1. Recompiling a PF will leave you with no data.
2. QTEMP and it's use
3. F1 and F4 are your friends
4. Make sure you book mark www.midrange.com

Don't be so thin-skinned, Larry...

I stand by Paul...

Any developer who has been working more than a year on an IBM S/38 -
AS/400 - iSeries system should know that each job has its own QTEMP
library.

I suspect that your developer (or someone) had previously created a copy
of
the file in one of the system libraries {possibly QGPL (bad), or QSYS
(very
bad)}, and when the partition was upgraded to V5R3 this file was blown
away,
thus causing the compile to fail after the upgrade.

Some people have 20 years of experience - but MANY people have 1 year of
experience 20 times...
