Thanks Rob, always forget about that one as I tend to lump it in with
LAN Console.

IIRC, you'd need PC-Anywhere or the equivalent to remotely access the PC
running Ops-Console correct?

What about LAN console? Does it make since to use PC anywhere there
too? Kind of like using an HMC shared session?

Let's not forget Operations Console. Always amazed how they
get that much
of iSeries Access going on a machine in totally restricted state.

Ah, your manager needs to look again at the manuals.

If your box is in restricted state, you won't be able to
connect to it
using Management Central or any other part of iNav.

You need remote access to the console
1) HMC
2) LAN Console
3) twin-ax card in a PC with PC-Anywhere.

Thanks everyone, very interesting suggestions. Our manager
thinks this can
be done with management central any thoughts.

Subject: Remote upgrade of iSeries

Hello everyone,

Has anyone been involved in version/release upgrade from a
central site
to a remote site. The company I work for is contemplating
doing this
for some of our customers.

Sincerely,
Bill Swann
