Hi Charles,

It's common practice to add a timestamp field for the record creation
date-time, though there are other ways to go about this. A variation on this
theme is a change log that is managed by a trigger. Both approaches require
code to be developed to capture and maintain this information.

Perhaps the file is journaled, in which case you could retrieve the date for
that record from the journal. However, if the record is very old, it may be
unlikely that the journal receiver that held the entry for that record is still
available on the system. I do not know any other way to determine record
creation date and time.

Subject: The creation date of a record in a PF?

Hi!

Is there any standard command to know the creation date of a record in a
physical file?

Thanks in advance for your answers

Charles
