Whose clues?  Blues clues!

Actually the big clue is DSP02.  I bet that
DSPSYSVAL SYSVAL(QDEVNAMING)
shows
*NORMAL
Now, if you do a DSPDEVD DSP02 you'll see something like:
Port number  . . . . . . . . . . . :   0
Switch setting . . . . . . . . . . :   1

You are looking for Switch setting 0.  There are a few ways to screw this 
up.  You could do a dummy like I did several years ago and forget that you 
have a multisession terminal.  I IPLed that freaking AS/400 several times 
until I figured that out.  Look to see if you have a jump key on the 
keyboard.  You may have to hold an Alt key to be able to use the jump key.
Failing that, enter setup mode on the terminal.  Change the session 
address from a 1 to a 0.
