Paul, Thanks for your response. I have mixed results with ODBC and only use it when I must. Nathan, Perhaps what vendors use in the way of implementation of ODBC and how it starts in QZDASOINIT or QSQSRVR or whatever service, is a real key here. To that end, I wish someone could state all the ways someone could start an RDBMS "service" using ODBC, which are the most efficient ways, etc.,... you know a good tutorial on remote app access methodologies and architectures, especially for the i5.
