not sure if IBM announced new p5 models yesterday, but the entry
models they are selling sure look to have more cores available in
them.

Yes, DB2 and backup not included, but just to put things in
perspective, if you were to run mySQL on the p5, IBM is charging the
same price for an 8 core Power5+ server that it is charging for a
single core, 3800CPW i5 520.
