Now I can vary on the NWS, see the CD-ROM with my SUSE (SLSE 9.0) image in it flash, see activity on the console while it attempts to start the image to install. But the installation CD fails to boot. I see this in the console:
IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM 1 = SMS Menu 5 = Default Boot List 8 = Open Firmware Prompt 6 = Stored Boot List Memory Keyboard Network SCSI Speaker BOOTP: chosen-network-type = ethernet, auto, none, auto BOOTP: server IP = 0.0.0.0 BOOTP: requested filename = BOOTP: client IP = 0.0.0.0 BOOTP: client HW addr = ce f3 d0 0 40 2 BOOTP: gateway IP = 0.0.0.0 BOOTP: device /vdevice/l-lan@30000002 BOOTP: loc-code U9406.520.101EE2D-V4-C2-T1 BOOTP: BOOTP request fail: 0 BOOTP: BOOTP request fail: 1 BOOTP: BOOTP request fail: 2 BOOTP ERROR: BOOTP request failed, QUIT !BA010004 ! Failed to boot ok 0 >It almost acts as though it is trying to boot from the network rather than the optical drive. Is there something simple I missed here? IPL parameters on the NWSD are: IPL stream file . . . . . . . . . : /qopt/SU90.001/install IPL parameters . . . . . . . . . . : VNC=1
Thanks, Pete Helgren
