Michael,

LDAP seraches are generic.
So to get entries for all users, just ask a generic 'All'

So for any entry with at least 1 mail-attribute, create a filter with "(mail=*)' (for any entry with a mail-attribute containing Michael, create a filter with "(mail=*michael*)"

You can ask multiple Attributes per entry found: there is an array of pointers to indicate these: If you want all Attributes per entry, fill in the first Attribute-pointer with null .

If you want GroupMemberships and emailDistributionLists, fill these 2 in the first 2 attribute-pointers.

You might first do a lookup for all Attributes of an Entry,
That way you can find out the exact notation of the attributes you are looking for.

Subject: LDAP search question

I have a RPG program that I pass a userid and return the email address
of the user.

I have a new requirement to try and generate a report that pulls things
such as Group memberships and Email Distribution lists from the LDAP. I
have found this information and I believe I can modify the program to
allow for this information to be retrieved. However. I need this
information for all users that exist in the LDAP. This does not
coincide with the users that are on the Iseries. We have quite a few
people that have email etc, but no Iseries access.

So I was wondering if there would be a way to have this program read
everyone in the LDAP? Any ideas how I might be able to accomplish this?

Thanks

Michael Smith
