We were led to believe that we would have the hardware to make our 3581 switchable when we first engaged a BP to configure an LPAR; but are told now that a script will have to be written that will cost several thousand dollars. This is not a very common script that's just boilerplate? Isn't using one tape drive for more that one partition an overwhelming desire by most shops? IBM hasn't included this functionality in the HMC?
