I've seen the same thing... doesn't have the same punch it used to and i'm
less inclined to think the worst when I see them lit! Ours tends to
trigger when an IXS server us brought up then back down to quickly.

When the amber alert light is lit on our 830 typically a very serious
condition exists. When it goes out all is well.
When the amber light is lit on our 520 it could be something as
uninteresting as no power to the console. It stays lit until the FRU is
cleared in SST.
