Haha, good old BT!I think by 'client access works fine' he means that he can use Dial-up to access the Egypt machine. What isn't working over the faster line is the VPN connection and therefore telnet & ftp etc.

It could be, but there's a lot of switches to go thru between those places, and I'll bet a piece of equipment along the line can't go that fast. I remember stuff like that in the old telecom communications days. I had a link set up between San Francisco and London. The fastest I could ever get it to go was 4800 BPS. The old equipment in the British telephone system was the culprit. -- Paul Nelson Arbor Solutions, Inc. 708-670-6978 Cell pnelson@xxxxxxxxxx "Clare Holtham" <clare.holtham@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 07/05/2006 10:02 PM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To "Midrange Systems Technical Discussion" <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject TCP/IP links Hi folks, Does anyone have any ideas why Telnet and FTP work OK from Norway to Egypt on a 4Mb line, but don't work at all via a 50Mb line??? Client access works fine apparently. Would this be some setting on the iSeries in Egypt? thanks, Clare----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt Graybiel" <matt@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, July 06, 2006 3:22 AM Subject: RE: Securing Exit PointsGreg and Alan, Please take a look at NetIQ.
