Check if DSP JOBD command exists, and if the output offered includes *OUTFILE

Many IBM display commands can output to screen, report or *OUTFILE. When you send to *OUTFILE you usually have choice of how much detail to include, such as *BASIC and *ALL and various in betweens. This file comes with external description layout so you can access it with software of your choice.

I access *OUTFILEs using Query/400, SQL, RPG, organizing the data I interested in various different ways. I use this for directory of our Query/400 (by description people gave), what software has recently been modified, statistics on volatile files, what is safe to delete, what is overdue to reorganize, lots more.

Hi list!

Is there any functional examples (sources) that you want to share about
how to write *JOBD information into a file? I am looking for something
different than printing the info and then parse the data.

Any help is highly appreciated.
